Rasta Kalmar is a facility that is part of the well-known Rasta chain with 30 meeting places around Sweden, where we operate restaurants, shops, and hotels. At Rasta Kalmar, we have a restaurant focusing on traditional Swedish home cooking, a hotel, as well as a well-stocked travel shop operated under the OKQ8 brand.

Job Description

As the Kitchen Manager, you are responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen and lead the kitchen team towards high quality, good profitability, and a first-class guest experience. You work operationally within the business while also planning, organizing, and developing the kitchen's work.

Together with the Site Manager, you are responsible for the overall operation. You ensure that the kitchen complies with current laws, hygiene requirements, and procedures according to HACCP, and you are responsible for purchasing, warehousing, inventory, and supplier contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach kitchen staff, creating a positive and developmental work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment for efficient and safe food preparation.
  • Ensure quality, presentation, and timing in production during lunch and evening shifts.
  • Handle orders, supplier contacts, raw material management, and cost control.
  • Maintain and follow routines for food hygiene, HACCP, and ensure good order and cleanliness in the kitchen.
  • Make quick operational decisions when necessary and act as a problem solver in stressful situations.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for you who is a confident and inspiring leader with strong professional pride. You are structured, stress-resistant, and have a clear focus on quality and guest experience. You enjoy both production at the stove and the role of developing and coaching employees.

  • Documented experience from restaurant kitchens, preferably with previous experience as a head chef or similar leadership role.
  • Good technical skills, a sense for taste, timing, and presentation.
  • Experience with menu planning, cost control, and order handling.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP.
  • Flexibility regarding working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work in a structured manner and make decisions at a high pace.

Working Hours and Benefits

Employment Type: Permanent with an initial probationary period.
Employment Level: 100%
Working Hours: Varying hours, including weekends and evenings.
Salary: According to collective agreement.
Start Date: According to agreement.
